Science CORPS
Science CORPS is an easily accessible, paid summer research experience for community college students across Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. I started this program in 2021 and co-teach it with Alex Riley, a Masters student in Education at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. To learn more, visit sciencecorpsprogram.org!

BIOL-L 390: Transitions to Careers and Research in Biology
I created and was instructor of record for this seminar course designed to: (1) help non-traditional students develop skills for academic success at IU and future STEM careers, including study and organization strategies, reading scientific articles, and scientific presentation; (2) teach students how to get involved in research; (3) introduce students to a wide range of biology topics through seminars and discussions; (4) explore career options in STEM; and (5) give students the opportunity to interact with and learn from diverse faculty, hopefully helping them build these important relationships. I taught it for two years and have handed it off to another former community-college transfer student at IU!
